Call for contributions – ICAF 2026 International Forum for Climate Adaptation, 19-21 January 2026

The ICAF 2026 International Forum for Climate Adaptation is scheduled to take place in Djibouti from 19 to 21 January 2026. Organised by the first Doctoral Alliance for Climate Adaptation (ADAC), its aim is to mobilize stakeholders committed to effective, inclusive and knowledge-based climate adaptation solutions.  The forum will bring together partners from civil society and international organizations, young scientists and researchers, and decision-makers. This event will focus on three themes: governance of adaptation, innovative strategies and solutions, and capacity building through research and innovation.

The impacts of climate change are already seriously affecting our territories and our populations. They particularly affect the most vulnerable and threaten the dynamics of sustainable development. It is therefore clear that adaptation is no longer an option, but a priority. In this context, the Centre d’Étude et de Recherche de Djibouti (CERD) has announced the International Climate Adaptation Forum (ICAF 2026), under the aegis of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research of Djibouti (MENSUR).

The ICAF 2026 forum will highlight an original experiment: the Priority Innovation and Adaptation Zones (ZAPI) to strengthen the resilience of socio-ecosystems in East Africa. ZAPIs involve local stakeholders and young researchers in participatory adaptation strategies that are both anticipatory and rooted in local realities. The forum will also host the first International Climate Adaptation Camp, a space for citizens to raise awareness, get involved and mobilize around adaptation issues and solutions: risk and disaster prevention, the fight against poverty, food and nutrition insecurity, water and ecosystem management, health, renewable energies and resilient infrastructures.

We would be delighted to have you take part in this initiative as a moderator, speaker or sponsor. You can share your contributions to the ADAC’s contact email adac.general@gmail.com or through the contact form on the website.
