A regional platform for climate adaptation

Held in Djibouti from 19 to 21 January 2026 under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic of Djibouti, the First International Forum on Climate Adaptation (ICAF) brought together researchers, policymakers, universities, international organisations and development partners around one shared objective: accelerating climate adaptation through science, innovation and cooperation.

Why ICAF matters for ADAC ?

A defining moment for ADAC

ICAF 2026 marked a decisive step in the implementation of the Doctoral Alliance for Climate Adaptation (ADAC). During the Forum, partner institutions signed the founding ADAC Charter, formalising a long-term scientific alliance dedicated to research, doctoral training, knowledge sharing and climate resilience across Eastern Africa and beyond.
